Davide Bertolini – Business lawyer for SMEs and international contracts

The Law Office of Davide Bertolini was founded on experience gained in international and export-oriented business environments, with the aim of assisting companies – in particular SMEs – in the management of contracts, commercial relationships and general business legal matters, including those involving foreign counterparties.

The Firm is based in Brescia and provides legal assistance in both Italian and English, regularly acting as an English-speaking lawyer for foreign clients and companies doing business in Italy, also thanks to admission to the Bar in Italy and in the State of New York (USA).

Education and specialization

I trained and specialized between Italy and the United States:

• Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Business and Economic Law (With Distinction, Dean’s List), at Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C.
• Certificate in International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution at Georgetown University Law Center, Washington D.C.
• Law degree, cum laude, from the University of Brescia, with a thesis in competition law and distribution agreements.
• Notarial traineeship and attendance at the Lombardy Notarial School Federico Guasti, with a focus on contract drafting and structuring complex deeds.

Professional experience

Over the years I have worked in international law firms with a strong international focus, assisting companies in various sectors (including manufacturing, cosmetics, traceability systems, industrial services, firearms). In addition to general corporate legal advice, I specialized in business contracting, particularly in distribution, agency, franchising, IP licenses, SaaS and joint ventures. My experience also includes collaboration with in-house legal departments of listed companies on contractual matters.

I am also Of Counsel for commercial and international contracting within the international network OS Law in Brescia.

Qualifications and roles

I have been a member of the Brescia Bar since 2015 and, since 2017, I am also admitted to practice in the State of New York.

I serve as a subject expert in commercial law at the University of Brescia, examining and assessing students.

I have held roles in international contexts, including the position of representative for Brescia in Italy of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the United Arab Emirates.

I have been a Professional Partner for Il Sole 24 Ore in commercial contract practice.

I served as a member of the Executive Committee of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association for Italy–Rome.

My personal background also includes a diploma from a Conservatory in double-bass and a piano certificate, with experience with the Italian Youth Orchestra.
